Start with these four checks

Common situations

The camera will not open or the preview is black

In Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera, make sure X8 Camera is allowed.
Close other apps using the camera, then return to X8. Restart the iPhone if needed.
Choose Rebuild Preview. If the live preview is already working, you can continue.

Photos were not added to the library

In Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos, allow X8 Camera to Add Photos Only.
Check free storage, then choose Retry on the result screen.
If the photos are already present, choose Already in Photos to avoid a duplicate.

Capture takes longer than expected

X8 prioritises reliable source capture; moving across cameras can require a short switch.
Select only the 1, 2 or 4 focal views you need to reduce waiting.
Keep the iPhone steady until the completion message appears.

Focal choices differ from another iPhone

This is expected; X8 detects the physical cameras and capabilities on each device.
A focal view without a matching lens may use a digital centre crop.
If choices appear incorrect, send the model, iOS version and copied diagnostics.

How photo recovery works

Each output is first written to X8's private app storage and then added to Photos. The recovery copy is removed after a confirmed save. If saving fails or is uncertain, it remains available for retry. X8 never uploads photos to any server.

Before sending diagnostics

Open Camera Diagnostics in X8 settings and copy the text. Include the iPhone model, iOS version, steps that caused the issue and diagnostics. You do not need to attach a private photo.
